摘要: Patients with mixed dyslipidemias (increased LDL cholesterol and triglyceride as well low HDL levels) benefit from a combination of lipid-modifying drugs such statins, niacin, fibrates ezetemibe. However, safety, tolerability cost are concern in drug therapy. Dietary phytosterols reduce cholesterol, niacin or fenofibrate primarily reduces increases HDL-cholesterol levels. Thus, we hypothesized that will synergistically impact lipoprotein profile atherogenesis apo E-KO mice. Phytosterols alone significantly reduced plasma total levels (14.1 vs. 16.9 mmol/L, P 50% 21.6 0.05) compared to controls, suggesting other potential anti-atherogenic effects fenofibrate. Unlike fenofibrate, caused an increase 150% (P < .05) concentrations decrease 22% which were associated significant reductions (65%, atherosclerotic lesion size controls. Neither the addition nor In conclusion, levels, while results no synergistic Further studies animal models needed establish synergetic between these dietary pharmacological agents.
