摘要: Objective: To examine the hypothesis that fat intolerance in newborns who receive intravenous lipid is related to both infection and liver dysfunction. Design: Prospective survey. Setting: Tertiary intensive care nursery. Patients: All were admitted neonatal unit during a 20-month period received parenteral for 2 or more weeks eligible study. Of 279 nutrition, 162 met eligibility criteria form basis of this report. Interventions: None. Main Outcome Measure: Fat as defined by serum triglyceride level 1.69 mmol/L greater (≥150 mg/dL). Results: Triglyceride levels similar infected noninfected patients. Newborns with hypertriglyceridemia likely have dysfunction (P Conclusions: Liver fetal growth retardation associated fat. Infection does not appear be independently hypertriglyceridemia. In absence retardation, there no priori reason limit use presence infection. Close monitoring adjustments dose warranted, especially small, sick are at highest risk (Arch Pediatr Adolesc Med. 1995;149:1249-1253)
