摘要: Baseline toxicity of a selection industrial chemicals and pharmaceuticals is determined experimentally with new in vitro test system (Kinspec) using membrane vesicles isolated from photosynthetic bacterium, Rhodobacter sphaeroides. This selective more sensitive than other mechanistic systems for baseline toxicity. The only concomitantly mechanism uncoupling, which can be distinguished by pH-dependent measurements. Because the tests contains target site toxicants, biological membrane, effective concentrations directly related to observed effects combining membrane-water partition experiments. No differences were found between nonpolar polar compounds, confirming earlier hypothesis that lethal body burdens are primarily caused unequal distribution compounds nontarget lipids not different mechanisms. A various specific modes toxic action exhibited same constant as pure toxicants. In mixtures four six components, concentration-additive each potential application proposed lies, therefore, assessing cumulative complex environmental mixtures.
