摘要: The mechanics of speciation with gene flow are still unclear. Disparity among genes in population differentiation (F(ST)) between diverging species is often interpreted as evidence for semipermeable boundaries, selection preventing "key" from introgressing despite ongoing flow. However, F(ST) can remain high before it reaches equilibrium the lineage sorting divergence and homogenizing effects (via secondary contact). Thus, when interpreting F(ST), dynamics drift, flow, need to be taken into account. We illustrate this view a multigenic analyses three closely related Silene species, S. latifolia, dioica, diclinis. report that although diclinis appears have evolved allopatry, isolation (bidirectional) latifolia dioica likely, perhaps result parapatric followed by more extensive sympatry. Interestingly, we detected signatures apparently independent instances positive at same locus dioica. Despite adaptive alleles not crossed boundary, suggesting has independently undergone species-specific (diversifying or parallel) selection.
