摘要: Marine debris is defined as any manmade item, commonly plastics, which ends up in the ocean regardless of source. Debris found along coastlines can cause harm or even death to nesting and hatchling sea turtles through ingestion, entrapment, entanglement. Jekyll Island a prominent beach for loggerhead with over 1700 emergences from 2012 2017. This study uses logged NOAA's Tracker turtle activity on generate density maps evaluate possible interactions. These provide valuable information portions coast most at risk Using these help GSTC Initiative focus citizen science efforts high overlap areas beach. With marine being global issue that impacts all species, lessons learned be applied across wide range taxa management strategies.
