Information theoretic index for regime shifts in power systems

摘要: A regime shift occurs when a dynamical system's state shifts from nominal equilibrium to an alternative equilibrium. This concept is often used describe the collapse of ecological systems, but it also appears in many engineering systems; most notably voltage power systems. paper uses information theoretic index known as Fisher Information (FI) real-time statistical detecting stressed IEEE 118 bus system. These preliminary experiments demonstrate that FI indeed provide early warning abnormal operations leading instability. As data driven method proposed provides useful tool supporting monitoring system operations.
