摘要: The rat GABAA receptor delta subunit gene has been isolated and its promoter mapped to facilitate studies of neuron-specific transcription. is transcribed from a single with several clustered transcriptional initiation sites. major start site maps prototype initiator sequence located in the center TATA-less CpG-rich island. Analysis 5'-flanking region revealed novel tandemly repeated purine element. Furthermore, gel retardation assays identified tissue-specific ubiquitous proteins that bind this sequence. One these factors, brain-specific factor (BSF) 1, was only observed extracts brain distinct BETA PAL, two DNA-binding similar purine-rich recognition sequences. distribution BSF1 closely matched expression pattern previously determined for mRNA, binding activity appeared simultaneously mRNA during differentiation cerebellar granule cells vitro. Our data therefore suggest neuronal cell type-enriched possibly involved differential transcription gene.
