Apolipoprotein E Polymorphism and Cognitive Function Change of the Elderly in a Rural Area, Korea

摘要: Objectives : The aim of this study is to examine the cognitive function change related aging, incidence impairment, and association between apolipoprotein E polymorphism impairment through a follow-up elderly with normal ability at baseline. Methods Two hundred fifteen subjects aged 65 over were surveyed in February, 1998 (baseline survey), their was assessed again 2003 1st follow-up) once 2006 (2nd follow-up). Ninety one completed all surveys up 2nd scores using MMSE-K (Korean Version Mini-Mental State Examination) distribution allele analyzed. Results decreased aging difference baseline increased age group. rate an 8-year 38.5% higher older groups. Age only significant factor for but there no genotype impairment. Conclusions cognition not study. To confirm further studies will be needed.
