摘要: Abstract Objectives The aim of this study was to assess and compare the crystalline structures both powder bulk human dental enamel by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). Methods buccal surfaces 60 selected noncarious third molars were divided into two groups powdered specimens. To prepare powders, tissues ground manually using a mortar pestle. For samples, slabs sectioned low-speed diamond saw. samples analyzed XRD, obtained data analyzed. values lattice parameters equation hexagonal structures. crystal sizes microstrains crystallites calculated both Scherrer Williamson–Hall (W–H) methods. total area under peaks considered as criterion for assessing crystallinity. were analyzed parametric independent t-test nonparametric Mann–Whitney test SPSS Windows at significance level 0.05. Results results current revealed significant differences between crystallinity (p ≤ 0.001). showed higher smaller than those samples. strain powder nearly twice This difference not statistically (p = 0.76). Conclusions that sample preparation method tooth can affect from XRD analysis.
