摘要: Breast feeding improves important outcomes for mothers and infants. In the UK, breastfeeding rates have historically been low, particularly among socially disadvantaged young women. Although there gradual increases in initiation since 2000, of exclusive breast continuation until 6 months remain lower than those similar countries. This review summarises evidence effective cost-effective strategies to help women, low income groups, make informed choices, overcome barriers establish maintain feeding. We describe development impact Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative, roles responsibilities, challenges opportunities that clinicians promoting maintaining a baby-friendly culture environment.
