Fumonisin B1 production and vegetative compatibility of strains from Gibberella fujikuroi mating population 'A' (Fusarium moniliforme).

摘要: We examined 25 strains of Fusarium moniliforme from eight states known to be associated with equine leukoencephalomalacia, a disease caused by the mycotoxin fumonisin B1. determined mating population, type, and vegetative compatibility group which each these belonged. All were in ‘A’ population; 12 A+ 13 A−. Seventeen female fertile; also averaged higher levels B1 production than did that sterile. Nitrate non-utilizing (nit) mutants generated all strain was assigned unique based on inability derived nit form prototrophic heterokaryon complementary any other examined. From data, we concluded is general characteristic population Gibberella fujikuroi since isolates genetically distinct individuals.
