摘要: Summary Introduction Patients not qualified for surgery due to the location and clinically advanced stage of oesophageal cancer constitute a group with poor prognosis. Only few them qualify radical teletherapy, most are being treated symptomatically. The paper presents preliminary results HDR brachytherapy applied in patients inoperable cancer. Material Methods Between May 1999 February 2000, 37 were by brachytherapy. patients’ age ranged between 42 81 years, mean: 53.1 yr. In commonly employed dose was that 21.5 Gy (in three fractions) at tumour site. four cases mediastinum additionally irradiated 20 five fractions, nine radically, teletherapy 50–60 vicinity oesophagus used following effect treatment form local remission regression dysphagia assessed 1st, 3rd 6th month follow-up after completion treatment. Results mean 6 months. Total remission, partial no as 1st treatment, found 7 (18.9%), 18 (48.6%), 12 (32.4%) patients, respectively. After 3- 6-month re-affirmed two-thirds under observation. combination method total two (20%) whereas ascertained (60%) patients. (10.8%) fistula detected during period. Conclusions lead dysfagia significant number some achieved lasting more than six Tolerance good, complications did differ from reported other authors.
