Comparative Study of Two Therapies Pharmacological Based a Ivermectin and Febendazol by Strongyles Control Intestinal in Thorougbreds Horses

摘要: The aim of this study was to comparative two therapies pharmacological based ivermectin and febendazole by Strongyles control intestinal in Thoroughbreds horses. Were 110 horses all 2 years old (55 Stallion 55 Mares), the Racetrack “La Rinconada” Caracas-Venezuela. A stool test performed prior treatment each horse. Group 1: 50 were evaluated before treatment, using a test, then given Ivermectin (0.2 mg/kg) 1% 7 ml, with reassessment intramuscularly coprological at days. 2: Fenbendazole later administered (5 18.8% oral paste 12 g. With 3: 10 equines those not drug therapy, alone parasite burden assessed fecal examination Willis test. Anthelmintics effectiveness conducted counting drug-treated group untreated group. results Group1 2.38 EPG showed pre-treatment post days 0.48. group2 obtained 2.66 0.06 EPG. 3 without medication present following day 1.9 value Comparing both fenbendazole antiparasitic indicate that base is more effective against equine Strongylus, taking percentage 97% comparison specifically macrocyclic lactones which much lower efficacy throwing only 76%.
