摘要: Nematodes belonging to the order Strongylida are ubiquitous in grazing horses, and large strongyle Strongylus vulgaris is considered most pathogenic. This parasite was originally described widely prevalent equine establishments, but decades of frequent anthelmintic treatment appears have reduced prevalence dramatically. Increasing levels resistance cyathostomin parasites led implementation selective therapy reduce further development resistance. It has been hypothesized that S. could reoccur under these less intensive circumstances. The aim with present study evaluate occurrence possible association usage therapy. A total 42 horse farms Denmark were evaluated for presence using individual larval cultures. Farms either a principle based on regular fecal egg counts from all or they treated strategically without counts. 662 horses included study. Covariate information at farm level collected questionnaire. overall 12.2% 64.3% level. had prevalences 15.4% 83.3%, respectively, while corresponding results not 7.7% 38.9%. These findings found statistically significant both Stud especially risk, significantly associated recent deworming occurring more than six months prior. suggest strict interpretation regimen can be an increased vulgaris. suggests modifications control programs studied farms, it remains unknown which extent this health risks infected horses.
