摘要: The dioecious campion Melandrium album (Silene latifolia) has sex chromosomes, and male female plants form different unisexual flowers. very youngest buds have both organs but the development of either a gynoecium in bud or stamens is arrested as matures. To examine molecular mechanism male-specific differentiation, cDNA library from was differentially screened with buds. Four reproductive organspecific cDNAs (corresponding to genes designated MROS1, MROS2, MROS3 MROS4, respectively) were isolated. Northern blot analysis showed that transcripts MROS expressed only organs. MROS4 accumulated early buds, while MROS1 MROS2 late anthers open putative protein glycine-rich regions, exhibits no similarity known proteins. Genomic Southern genomes included genes. Non-radioactive situ hybridization revealed localization mRNA distributed throughout tapetum. After had epidermis endothecium near stomium, accumulation increased significantly mature pollen. seems be novel anther-specific gene functions dehiscence maturation
