摘要: Abstract In the context of conservation biology, we have searched for most influential characteristics urbanparks on ecological diversity. this study, therefore, studied ant community 24 parks in two citiesof Southern Spain (Cordoba and Seville). total, 46 species were found. Abundant widely distributedspecies synanthropic ones, such as Lasius grandis , Pheidole pallidula or Tapinoma nigerrimum andexotic Cardiocondyla mauritanica . However some also harbored natural habitat-preferring species. Park size, shape distance to city outskirts important predictors ofspecies richness Likewise, park age influenced composition fauna. Key words: biodiversity conservation, Formicidae (Hymenoptera), landscape variables, urban green spaces. INTRODUCTION One main problems biology is theglobal decline due habitat loss andfragmentation, resulting from anthropogenic pressureson ecosystems (Garden
