摘要: In the first experiment of its kind, we have used x-ray diffraction to study magnetic and charge properties an antiferromagnet as a function applied field H. The intensity hard x-rays diffracted at space-group-forbidden reflection (3, 0, 0) MnF2 with H parallel easy axis = Hc /√2 shows evidence spin-flop transition associated surface magnetization, 9.3 T in bulk. Above found much larger than that predicted for purely scattering. We attribute unexpected scattering created by field-induced structural phase transition.
