摘要: Reduced food intake is a major cause of continuing weight loss in patients with cancer. Previous work has suggested that an ongoing inflammatory response may also contribute to and alter the nature body tissue loss. To examine this, cell mass was estimated using measurements total potassium (TBK) 31 gastrointestinal cancer or without (C-reactive protein level above 5 mg/1). Albumin levels, water 24-h urinary creatinine clearance were measured. When measured TBK expressed as percentage predicted normal values there significant reduction for compared those (P = 0·04). However, when different prediction equation used this difference not 0·29). Therefore, it remains uncertain whether contributes mass.
