摘要: Abstract The few construction and demolition waste (CDW) recycling plants that there are in Portugal separate the materials then crush sieve them prior to final delivery. These have limited overall capacity quality of output material is not good enough for higher grade applications such as concrete brick production. This study aims better understand economic implications implementing operating a large-scale high-end CDW plant serve densely populated urban area (Lisbon its outskirts). first part deals with location plant, design entering leaving it. There follows an analysis which leads sensitivity presented two, provides important conclusions viability full-scale plants. methodology used can be applied other locations resulted, within regional data frame Lisbon Metropolitan area, on return investment period around 2 years, considering 350 tonne/h, collection 21.8 million €/year gate fees need pay €11.9 million €/year running costs. Hence, high profit potential this venture, even though initial needs. Moreover, the venture seems economically viable absence specific regulatory government policy intervention CDW, may indicate clear alignment between environmental benefits, arising from operation.
