摘要: This study analyzed data from two consecutive retrospective cohort samples (1983 to 1998 and 1999 2002) of Brazilian children with AIDS (N = 1,758) through mother-to-child-transmission. Late-stage diagnosis (CDC category C) was investigated in relation the following variables: year birth, HIV diagnosis, time periods related changes government treatment guidelines. occurred 731 (41.6%) cases more prevalent infants under 12 months age. The rate late-stage decreased 48% 36% between studied. We also observed a reduction proportion diagnoses lapse ART initiation. A significant association found timely having been born recent years (OR 0.62; p 0.009) 0.72; 0.002/OR < 0.001). Infants age were likely be diagnosed at late stage than older 1.70; 0.004). Despite advances, there is need improve effectiveness policies programs focused on improving early management HIV/AIDS.
