摘要: The Ludlovian-Lochkovian succession of the Łysogory Region Holy Cross Mountains (Central Poland) represents an infill a Caledonian foreland basin situated at SW margin East European Craton (EEC). The facies pattern and transport directions indicate that source area was located westward from separated from Baltica mainland by epicratonic sea. 2.5 km thick succession, defined here as Nowa Slupia Group, has been subdivided into 9 formations (from bottom to top: Trzcianka, Trochowiny, Winnica / Rachtanka, Sarnia Zwola Bronkowice, Podchelmie, Rudki Bostow formations). Arevised lithostratigraphic scheme been constructed. lower part Slupia Group (Trzcianka Trochowiny formations) represents underfilled stage development is composed flysch-like sediments. upper group represents the filled overfilled stage basin. In latter lateral migration two main facies: red continental deposits (represented Rachtanka Podchelmie open shelf hemipelagic sediments Sarnia referred Podlasie facies), observed. The facies migrations probably resulted fromeustatic fluctuations. twomain zones are separated by a narrowbelt neritic Winnica, Bronkowice formations), which known for their rich benthic fauna. trends observed show during latest Ludlovian through early Pridolian, the boundary between continental marine in oriented parallel Baltica margin (NNW-SSE).
