摘要: Context: Because of epilepsy's common occurrence, the narrow therapeutic and safety margins antiepileptic medications, recognized complications medication nonadherence in adults with epilepsy, identifying rates, patterns, predictors children epilepsy is imperative. The onset evolution drug newly diagnosed remains unknown. Objectives: To identify characterize trajectories adherence over first 6 months therapy to determine sociodemographic epilepsy-specific trajectories. Design, Setting, Patients: Prospective, longitudinal observational study a consecutive cohort 124 (2-12 years old) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Patients were recruited from April 2006 through March 2009, final data collection occurred September 2009. Main Outcome Measure: Objective measured using electronic monitors. Results: Fifty-eight percent demonstrated persistent during therapy. Group-based trajectory models identified 5 differential patterns (Bayesian information criterion = −23611.8): severe early (13%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 8%-20%), delayed (7%; CI, 3%-12%), moderate mild (26%; 19%-34%), near-perfect (42%; 33%-50%). pattern most patients was established by month Socioeconomic status sole predictor group (χ 2 4 = 19.3 [n = 115]; P = 0.25), lower socioeconomic associated higher nonadherence. Conclusion: Five that captured spectrum drugs among epilepsy; significantly status.
