摘要: A new type of very-low-stiffness super-active composite material is presented. This laminate uses shape-memory alloy (SMA) filaments which are embedded within a low-hardness silicone matrix. The purpose to develop an active in the local strains SMA actuator will be approximately 1%, while at least order magnitude larger. useful for biomimetic, biomedical, surgical and prosthetic applications very high stiffness actuation strength conventional too great biological tissues. modified form moment force-balance analysis used model performance (SASMAC). analytical models predict SASMAC pull - 10 mil diameter Tinel K actuators 0.10 thick, 25 Durometer results testing demonstrate that capable straining up 10% with theory experiment good agreement. Fatigue was conducted on 1 000 cycles. Because were kept less than element showed no degradation performance.
