摘要: Background At the Surgical Department of Surgery University Hospital Wurzburg microbiological examinations were performed ulcer grounds from patients with diabetic-neuropathic, diabetic-ischemic, venous, and arterial leg ulcers. The aim examination was to evaluate possible differences in healing process these ulcers based on knowledge their bacterial populations. Patients methods In a period four months, 63 consecutively examined by taking bacteriological swab area. wounds followed related impact colonisation clinical signs infection. Results 95% venous had positive smear, whereas only 70% diabetic for growth. Bacterial population three entities, however did not differ significantly. 100% clinically infected but 80% revealed smear. On other hand, 22% smear developed infection contrast diabetic. Venous showed few prolonged healing, even cases marked contamination. Despite however, sometimes reveal wound (20%). All 20% ischemic healed satisfactorily. Arterial no growth significantly better than contaminated wounds. This difference significant entities. Radical removal minor amputation increased rate over 80%, profit this therapy. Conclusions A is inevitably correlated protracted healing. Nevertheless fulminant often despite initial inability demonstrate order start antibiotic treatment as early possible, should be obtained routinely chronic ulcers, routine does appear indicated it bears consequences. same applies surgically fully treated peripheral occlusive disease. As ischemia presents limiting factor, therapy case will prevent imminent amputation.
