摘要: Chronic wounds are a major clinical health problem, costing billions of dollars and plaguing millions people worldwide with increased morbidity mortality. Treatment these wound infections is complex can take months to years. The length difficulty treating largely attributed the presence biofilms created by common microbiological contaminants in wounded area. Since multidrug-resistant bacterial persist wounds, able dodge “magic” antibiotic bullet. Without aid antimicrobials fight off infections, novel essential. Recently, physical sciences have been mined for alternatives antibiotics. One such promising alternative therapy use electrical stimulation devices speed healing process. There three forms predominately utilized treat chronic infections: low-intensity direct current, high-voltage pulsed alternating current. various proposed enhance via host cells inhibiting biofilm growth. This chapter focuses on studies examining conjunction cells, along relevant trial studies.
