摘要: Objectives The objective of this study was to compare sex differences among referrals for evaluation poor growth. Study design This based on chart reviews all new-patient encounters at Children's Hospital Philadelphia Diagnostic and Research Growth Center short stature or growth evaluations during 2001. Outcome measures were patient characteristics, frequency underlying pathology, laboratory radiologic investigations before referral. Results One hundred eighty-two boys 96 girls referred ( P z score, −2.4 vs −1.9 boys, =.02) mid-parental target heights (median deficit, 1.9 1.3 SD, Conclusions Sex in may delay diagnosis diseases while promoting overzealous healthy who do not appear be tall enough.
