摘要: Purpose Nurses have a professional obligation to maintain patient dignity when providing nursing care. The concept of dignity, however, is dependent on cultural context. aim this study was elicit nurses' perspectives for maintaining in Indonesian clinical care settings. Design A qualitative descriptive performed. Methods total 40 nurse participants were recruited by purposive sampling from six general public hospitals Eastern Java, Indonesia, including medical and surgical units. Data collected 2017 using individual face-to-face semistructured interviews. Inductive content analysis employed. Findings interview data revealed nurses considered three main elements necessary care: personalized care, which included prioritizing patients treating as individuals; compassionate empathizing emotional support; advocacy, protecting rights being representative the patient. Conclusions This provided knowledge how perspective Indonesia.
