摘要: The objective of this systematic review was to evaluate the effect different types orthognathic surgery on dimensions upper airways assessed using three-dimensional images. An electronic search performed in Cochrane Library, Medline, Scopus, VHL, Web Science, and System for Information Grey Literature Europe, ending January 2015. Inclusion criteria encompassed clinical studies humans, patient age >15 years, patients submitted maxillary or mandibular advancement setback surgery, isolated combination, presentation airway measures, specifically volume and/or minimum cross-sectional area (CSA), obtained from computed tomography magnetic resonance imaging. Additional searches were conducted references included articles NLM catalogue. assessment risk bias performed. A total 1180 retrieved, which 28 met eligibility criteria; one later excluded as it presented a high bias. meta-analysis There is moderate evidence conclude that CSA increases significantly (124.13 mm(2)) after maxillomandibular (MMA); MMA (7416.10mm(3)) decreases advancement+mandibular (-1552.90 mm(3)) (-1894.65 mm(3)).
