摘要: The aim of this study was on the one hand, to compare fire behaviour polyester/clay nanocomposites with that neat polymers added conventional flame retardant melamine isocyanurate (MIC) and other effect nanocomposites. Polyester/clay were prepared by using polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) a co-polyester elastomer as polymeric matrices commercial organoclay filler. As verified X-ray diffractometry (XRD) transmission electron microscopy (TEM) intercalated structures obtained mixing molten polymer layered silicate in corotating twin screw extruder. The these materials investigated means an oxygen consumption calorimetry (Cone Calorimeter). Peak heat release rate 3-mm thick samples measured at 50 kW/m2 external flux reduced factor 2–3 addition organically modified montmorillonite polymers. further MIC did not give significant improvement materials.
