摘要: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is thought to develop as a result of chronic exposure cigarette smoke, occupational or other environmental hazards, and it comprises both airways parenchyma. Acute infections colonization with bacteria may also contribute development and/or progression COPD lung disease. Airway epithelium the primary target for inhaled factors pathogens. The repetitive injury in persistent activation pathways involved airway epithelial repair, such mesenchymal transition, altered migration proliferation progenitor cells, abnormal redifferentiation leading remodeling. Development model systems that mimic observed required understand molecular mechanisms underlying repair are specific COPD, novel therapies focused on repair.
