摘要: Among nature-inspired phenomena, the interactions of nanostructured surfaces with water are probably most studied ones, as well mimicked by science: geckos and spiders that can stick on smooth surfaces, beetles collect fog in desert, gerridae walk water—which is reason why they also called striders, or pond skaters; all these creatures owe their characterizing properties to influence surface nanostructuring affinity water. Still, popular example “nature-created” nanotechnology self-cleaning one, given onset either superhydrophilicity, superhydrophobicity, superoleophobicity. This allowed particular conditions (photo)chemistry structuring: former typical TiO2-containing while latter based formation air layers between nanometric protrusions, preventing liquid from wetting it. chapter dedicated mechanisms underlying bioinspired fields application effects.
