摘要: How reliable are results on spatial distribution of biodiversity based databases? Many studies have evidenced the uncertainty related to this kind analysis due sampling effort bias and need for its quantification. Despite that a number methods available that, little is known about their statistical limitations discrimination capability, which could seriously constrain use. We assess first time capacity two widely used proposed new one (FIDEGAM), all species accumulation curves, under different scenarios exhaustiveness using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analyses. Additionally, we examine what extent output each method represents completeness in simulated scenario where true richness known. Finally, apply FIDEGAM real situation explore patterns plant diversity National Park. showed an excellent capability distinguish between well poorly sampled areas regardless exhaustiveness, whereas other failed. Accordingly, values were strongly correlated with percentage detected scenario, estimated no relationship null capability. Quantifying necessary account analyses, however, not equally reliable. Our comparative demonstrated was most accurate discriminator therefore, it can be efficiently applied databases order enhance reliability
