摘要: Sandy beaches are central economic assets, attracting more recreational users than other coastal ecosystems. However, urbanization and landscape modification can compromise both the functional integrity attractiveness of beach Our study aimed at investigating relationship between sandy artificialization perception by users, visual biodiversity. We conducted biodiversity assessments urbanized semiurbanized in Brazil Uruguay. specifically examined meiofauna as an indicator hypothesized that results a higher number detractors negatively affect user evaluation, lower-rated units support lower levels found were rated units, indicating quality was sensitive to human interventions. expectations regarding only partially met; few structural descriptors assemblages differed among classes quality. exhibited signs environmental quality, indicated oligochaete densities significant differences structure. conclude managing needs advance beyond assessment aesthetic parameters also include structure function Use such supporting tools for is particularly important view sea level rise increasing development.
