摘要: The commitment theory may explain both the finite lifespan of diploid fibroblasts and apparent immortality transformed lines. Potentially immortal cells are assumed on division to generate with some fixed probability committed senesce after a specific number divisions. During period between senescence, maintain normal growth so that uncommitted diluted by ones ultimately be lost in subculturing. A predictions this model described experiments strongly supporting reported. We conclude limited is, effect, an artifact culturing procedures.
