摘要: Objectives The current study examines upstream engagement initiatives using the issue of nanotechnology as a case study. Methods A series logistic and OLS regression analyses explore data from laboratory experiment on information-seeking behavior, knowledge, willingness to engage with in future. Results Our results fail offer evidence positive relationships between anticipated discussion learning future. In addition, our show that opposing others actually encourages individuals seek out an editorial or opinion piece first opposed news item. Conclusion Our findings point toward important variations kinds behaviors likely emerge different conditions under which may be motivated learn more about emerging science issues, provide practical insights into are most conducive knowledge gain engagement.
