摘要: Abstract Reflection and transmission coefficients due to incident plane SH-waves at a corrugated interface between two isotropic, laterally vertically heterogeneous visco-elastic solid half spaces are obtained. The density complex rigidity of each medium considered vary along horizontal vertical directions. Closed form expressions reflection derived using Rayleigh’s method approximation. These found be the function corrugation, heterogeneity, angle incidence, propagation attenuation vectors visco-elasticity media. Numerical computations made for specific model study nature dependence these coefficients. Variations first order approximation corrugation versus computed depicted graphically. Comparison is in viscoelastic media uniform elastic problems investigated earlier by Asano [Bull. Earthq. Res. Inst. 38 (1960) 177], Singh et al. [Acta Geophys. Pol. XXVI (1978) 209], Kaushik Chopra [Geophys. Bull. 18 (1980) 111] Gupta Trans. 33 (1987) 89] have been reduced as particular cases.
