摘要: Little is known about the optimum level of iodine intake for supplementation programmes, or effects high levels that are found in some countries. We compared incidence different types hyperthyroidism East-Jutland Denmark with a low average but no endemic goitre, and Iceland relatively intake. Hyperthyroidism was more common than Iceland, due to much higher multinodular toxic goitre also single adenoma. Most patients these diseases were over 50 years age. By contrast, Graves' disease significantly East-Jutland. This difference most marked younger age groups, which twice as These results demonstrate even mild deficiency has significant effect on population health, since it leads autonomous thyroid nodules elderly population. However, probably should not exceed necessary avoid deficiency, otherwise may be induced young
