摘要: Objective : The aim of the present study was to assess association leukocyte count and high sensitivity C-Reactive protein (hsCRP) with metabolic abnormalities in subjects normal glucose tolerance. Methods Subjects Normal Glucose Tolerance (NGT) (n = 865) were recruited from Chennai Urban Rural Epidemiology Study [CURES]. Standard methods used for assessing hsCRP [Nephelometry, a subset] leukocytes [Flowcytometry, Sysmex SF-3000]. Insulin resistance calculated using Homeostasis Assessment model (HOMA-IR). Results Body mass index, waist circumference, systolic diastolic blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose, HbA 1 c, serum cholesterol, LDL HOMA IR increased significantly increasing tertiles [p trend < 0.001]. Both showed positive correlation cardiovascular risk factors. Leukocyte [p=0.008]. mean [p<0.001] [p=0.04] higher Metabolic Syndrome (MS), which increase number <0.001]. Regression models [p=0.03] be associated MS, even after adjusting age gender. Conclusion A significant exists between systemic inflammation [leukocyte hsCRP] MS/ factors Asian Indians among non-diabetic subjects. ©
