摘要: This study evaluated the caries preventive effects of high concentrations fluoride on overdenture abutment teeth. Twenty-four extracted caries-free teeth were randomly selected from a pool patients aged 50-70 and prepared as for abutments. The sectioned mesiodistally into two halves. All surfaces painted with protective varnish except window root surface one cut dentin occlusal. 48 halves divided four groups 12 specimens. Each group received different 4-minute treatment prior to being placed in demineralizing solution 6 hours. (1) distilled H2O only; (2) 1,000 ppm F-; (3) 5,000 (4) 10,000 F-. cycled hours 17 fluoride-free remineralizing days. Sections at 100 +/- 10 microns through windows. Standardized photomicrographs made under polarized light using quinoline imbibing media. Microradiographs same specimens these also photographed magnification. depths lesions measured drawings projected digitizer screen. amount demineralization was calculated by subtracting width mineralizing bands depth lesion. conclusions were: Lesions much shallower than occlusal; A dose response concentration topical application evident.
