摘要: THEMIS multi-point observation of the plasma and magnetic fields, conducted simultaneously in dayside magnetosheath magnetosphere, were used to collect 646 large-scale jets interacting with magnetopause. The identified as dense fast streams whose energy density is higher than that upstream solar wind. jet interaction magnetopause was revealed from sudden inward motion an enhancement geomagnetic field. penetration determined appearance against background hot magnetospheric particle population. We found almost 60% penetrated through Vast majority penetrating characterized by high velocities V > 220 km/s kinetic bk 1 corresponded a combination finite Larmor radius effect mechanisms impulsive penetration. average flux be 1.5 times larger rate jet-related into magnetosphere estimated ~10^29 particles per day. varies highly time can achieve values 1.5*10^29 hour comparable estimates total amount entering magnetosphere.
