摘要: Aim/hypothesis. Electroacupuncture has been shown to induce a short-term hypoglycaemic effect in streptozotocin diabetic rats. We designed an experiment investigate the of electroacupuncture Psammomys obesus, model insulin resistance and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.¶Methods. divided 29 randomly into three groups: abdominal (real, n = 11), back (placebo, 9) control (anaesthesia, 9). was carried out on days 1, 3 5 experiment. During first week experiment, blood glucose tested times treatment once following days. Over next 2 weeks, every other day. Animals were weighed at same time sampling. After end drawn for measurement insulin, fructosamine, cholesterol triglycerides.¶Results. At day (end intervention), (as per cent primary concentrations, means ± SE) 57 10, 93 13 89 11 real, placebo groups respectively (p 0.02). 8, 68 14, 86 16 97 9 0.04). 22, 79 11, 85 15 131 Comparison decline glucose, throughout between real by ANOVA highly significant 0.05). Animal weight gain, serum triglycerides not significantly different groups.¶Conclusion/interpretation. special acupoints induces sustained compared with non-specific points, without loss. No hypoinsulinaemic groups. [Diabetologia (2000) 43: 809–813]
