摘要: Background Multiplex PCR tests have improved our understanding of respiratory viruses' epidemiology by allowing their wide range detection. We describe here the burden these viruses in hospital settings over a five-year period. Methods All samples from adult patients (>20 years old) tested multiplex-PCR at request physicians, May 1 2011 to April 30 2016, were included retrospectively. Viral findings are reported season, patient age group, tract region (upper or lower) and type clinical unit (intensive care unit, pneumology lung transplantation other medical units). Results In total, 7196 (4958 patients) included; 29.2% positive, with viral co-infections detected 1.6% samples. Overall, two groups accounted for 60.2% all identified: picornaviruses (rhinovirus enterovirus, 34.3%) influenza (26.6%). Influenza constituted group most frequently identified winter (34.4%), upper (32%) 70 (36.4%). Picornavirus was second populations groups, including lower infections (41.3%) intensive units (37.6%). Conclusion This study, largest date Europe, provides broad picture distribution seasons, types regions setting. It highlights associated neglected picornavirus group. These data important implications future development vaccines antiviral drugs.
