摘要: Endoscopic sinus surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures in otolaryngology. However, location orbit and intracranial contents close proximity to paranasal sinuses makes endoscopic potentially hazardous. Otolaryngologists have employed computer-aided surgery, or image-guided over past two decades enhance surgeon confidence, allow more thorough dissections possibly reduce complication rate surgery. Computer-aided utilizes preoperative imaging provide real-time localization instruments field. Although originated neurosurgical realm, otolaryngologists soon appreciated that this technology could assist identifying critical orbital structures surrounding sinuses, aid decreasing complications.
