摘要: OBJECTIVE To determine the association and correlation between morphologic features of breast cancer on gray scale ultrasound, vascularity patterns indices color spectral Doppler ultrasound. STUDY DESIGN Cross-sectional, analytical study. PLACE AND DURATION OF Department Radiology, Dow University Health Sciences Civil Hospital, Karachi, from August 2006 to June 2007. METHODOLOGY Fifty adult female patients with histopathological proven underwent ultrasound for evaluation mode; scan flow measurement Regression analysis was conducted variables associations patterns. RESULTS The 50 studied had predominantly solid tumour in 46 (92%) depth width ratio > 1 37 (76%). mean size 3.6 +/- 1.34 cm, irregular margins 41 (82%), posterior shadowing 43 (86%) calcifications 27 (54%). Type 3 (multiple peripheral vessels) most frequent pattern (n=21, 42%) that showed a positive tumours (r=0.7, p < 0.001). Low resistance waveform seen 44 (88%) cases. average 3.69 cm vascular 3.1 avascular tumours. Mean resistive index (RI) 0.67. pulsatility (PI) 1.1. RI significantly high cystic (mean=0.8, 0.001) low measuring less than 2 (RI=0.18, CONCLUSION In this study, multiple vessels associated all appearance focal cancer. Apart tumours, markedly there no consistent trend difference findings size. Histopathology, therefore, remains main modality evaluate type characteristics.
