摘要: Metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) are linked to second messengers through G-proteins and play an important role in normal neuronal functions, as well plasticity response injury. Until recently, it has not been possible examine the detailed localization of mGluRs mammalian brain because lack specific agonists antagonists amenable ligand binding studies cloned cDNA sequences for development situ hybridization probes or antibodies immunocytochemistry. In past few years, many these reagents have become available, yielding data from several avenues that indicated marked regional heterogeneity distributions mGluR subtypes. this chapter, we will review expression five genes most thoroughly characterized, second-messenger systems associated with receptors, autoradiographic pharmacological
