An explorative study on factors influencing the career success of management employees

摘要: Orientation: South African organisations are increasingly recognising the importance of attracting, developing and retaining top talent, especially management employees. Research purpose: In an attempt to help with this study focused on career success identified specific factors that influence managers in work environment. Motivation for study: Organisations need establish favourable organisational conditions human resource practices retain their By identifying influential managers, research may focus more accurately retention strategies approach, design method: The present used a qualitative followed exploratory approach. A non-probability purposive sample 24 senior employees was selected from two financial institutions Africa. Qualitative data collected by means semi-structured interviews verbatim transcriptions were analysed content analysis. Main findings: Managers various impact success. One can distinguish ‘external’ (e.g. political economic climate business environment) ‘internal’ individuals’ personal attributes, skills education).
