摘要: Abstract Phosphorus (P) is one of the major nutrients required for growth phytoplankton. While dissolved inorganic phosphorus (DIP) preferred form P, phytoplankton can utilize organic (DOP) when DIP limited. How deficiency affects progression cell division cycle and how well DOP restore normal in unclear. Here we investigated effects limitation supply adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP) as sole P-source on Prorocentrum donghaiense, most common harmful algae bloom dinoflagellates East China Sea. Part culture under DIP-replete condition progressed through a complete (G1 → S → G2M) 24 h with typical diel rhythm each phase, exhibiting daily rate 0.40 d−1 average size 11.19 ± 0.06 μm equivalent spherical diameter. Under deficiency, population P. donghaiense averaged at 0.09 d−1 was blocked G1 while 11.65 ± 0.05 μm. When replaced by ATP molar concentration, cultures displayed similar rate, size, oscillation treatment. The results suggest that blocks due to inability DNA duplication or check-point protein phosphorylation still allowing photosynthesis metabolisms, such fully complement donghaiense.
