摘要: Population studies suggest that seizures occur in chronic alcoholics as an effect of ethanol withdrawal or toxicity. Our own individuals undergoing inpatient alcohol detoxification revealed a correlation between the number detoxifications conducted and probability individual will have seizure disorder. To establish basis for this association we studied drinking histories, drug use, related characteristics 500 individuals, 83 whom were women, who enrolled program. Discriminant analyses direct average daily consumption prevalence alcoholic studied. This was significant, but it not strong times underwent detoxification. data supports hypothesis because long-term kindling recurrent more short-term exposure.
