摘要: Abstract Glutathione-dependent degradation of parathion was studied in six strains houseflies to find out whether it might be important as a cause resistance. When supernatant fractions high-speed centrifuged homogenates were fortified with glutathione and incubated parathion, water-soluble products formed. The rate detoxication highest malathion-resistant strain (c. 4 μg degraded per abdomen hour), lowest susceptible strain, intermediate some other organophosphate-resistant strains. In one the latter strains, E 1 , gene for glutathione-dependent is located on second chromosome, closely linked cm + . This same chromosome which low ali-esterase activity hydrolytic paraoxon located. It not likely that identical since also present Nie lacks and, therefore, presence separate called g postulated. Since only 4-fold resistant seems confer little resistance, at least this insecticide. three identified. Three labeled formed from ethyl-labeled parathion: ethylglutathione, diethylphos-phorothionic acid, desethylparathion.
