摘要: Fatal occupational injuries in a new development region Shanghai east China are described. All deaths the East Pujiang New Area during period 1991 through 1997 were abstracted from multiple, overlapping source documents. There 426 and crude mortality rate of 9.1 per 100,000 workers. The death was highest 1995 (14.6%), when expansion area most rapid. construction sector accounted for 55% deaths, followed by manufacturing (23%) transport, storage, telecommunications (11%). Falls, collisions, struck by/against incidents, electrocutions 80% all deaths. Falls led other causes (33%) particularly prevalent industry (46% construction). ongoing, comprehensive injury surveillance systems People’s Republic will be essential to target evaluate prevention activities future.
